PRESS RELEASE: THE LIEUTENANT OF INISHMORE

The Lieutenant of Inishmore is a Bloody Good Time at Pensacola Little Theatre

Pensacola Little Theatre is proud to present The Lieutenant of Inishmore, a dark comedy by Martin McDonagh. This Mainstage production follows the story of Mad Padraic, the unhinged leader of the Irish National Liberation Army, as he embarks on a quest to avenge his beloved pet cat, Wee Thomas. Directed by Barbara Jacobs, this production contains adult material and graphic violence.

Mad Padraic cares about one thing and one alone, and it’s not his fight for Irish independence. It’s his cat, Wee Thomas. When Padraic learns that his beloved cat has been killed, Padraic rushes home to avenge him. As he plows through the town in pursuit of revenge, bodies pile up in his wake. However, as fierce as he may be, Padriac’s soft spot for Wee Thomas may be the weak spot the next aspiring Lieutenant of Inishmore needs to target.

While this production brings plenty of dark humor and a bevy of horror effects, audiences are sure to enjoy the two real stars of the show, Socks and Shadow, who play the cats of Inishmore. The two feline performers have been getting to know the human stars of the show with the help of our resident veterinarian, Eleanore Armani, and are ready for their debut.

You can see The Lieutenant of Inishmore on our Mainstage February 4-13, 2022. Get tickets at pensacolalittletheatre.com or by calling the Box Office at 850-432-2042 Monday-Friday 12-5 pm.

We want to thank WEAR, Channel 3, for sponsoring this production. Financial support for PLT programs is provided in part by the Florida Division of Cultural Affairs and ACE.
