Cast
Valerie Russenberger as Monette Gentry
Valerie's love for Pensacola Little Theatre started in 1990 with The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (Miss Mona). Since then, she has enjoyed playing roles in musicals (Mame, La Cage aux Folles, Nunsense) and comedies (Rumors, No Sex Please We're British, The Dixie Swim Club). She started Curtain Call Productions years ago with Steel Magnolias as a fundraising arm of PLT. She has loved producing small ensemble comedies with some of her favorite actors and actresses.
Sheryl VandenBerg as Libby Ruth Ames
Sheryl is a familiar face to Pensacola audiences, having performed with most theatrical groups in town. Whether a drama, comedy, or musical, her love of theatre is wholehearted. Sheryl is very excited to be working with this amazing team and reprising the role of Libby Ruth. Favorite roles include Stella in A Streetcar Named Desire, The Witch in Into the Woods, and Dolly in Hello Dolly.
Candi Bramlett as Charlie Collins
Candi returns to the stage to share her passion for theatre and her love for PLT. This experience has been filled with fun and laughter for Candi since day one. She was previously seen in The Savannah Sipping Society, Mamma Mia!, Mama Won't Fly, and Dearly Departed. Candi would like to thank Gibson Girl Boutique in Gulf Breeze for dressing Charlie.
Carolyn Ward as Kari Ames-Bissette
As a child, Carolyn fell in love with theatre. Her favorite roles over the years include starring as the Velveteen Rabbit in The Velveteen Rabbit, Titania in A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Meg in Leading Ladies. Although Carolyn has remained closely involved with PLT as Board of Trustees President and current Trustee Advisor, this will be her first show in years. Nothing beats the joy of being back on stage, reprising her role as Kari with this lovable cast!
Donna Winston Quinn as Sedalia
Donna received the department award for speech and drama (College of San Mateo, CA) and then won a theatre scholarship from San Fransisco State College. Favorite roles and awards at PLT include Amanda Wingfield (Glass Menagerie, 1994, Best Actress Award), Eleanor (No Sex Please We're British, 1996, Best Supporting Actress Award), Big Mamma (Cat On a Hot Tin Roof, 1997, Best Featured Actor), Ouiser (Steel Magnolias, 2001, Vera Award), and Daisy (Driving Miss Daisy, 2010, Studio 400 Spirit Award), She dedicates all performances to the talents and diversity given by God inspired by and her husband, Pat Quinn, who always remains with her spiritually.
Jill Walters as Deedra Wingate
Some of Jill's favorite roles include Charlotte Hay (Moon Over Buffalo), Alice McAlary (Lucky Guy), and Celia (Calendar Girls). Jill has also been seen in Curtain Call Productions' presentations of The Dixie Swim Club (Sheree Hollinger) and The Savannah Sipping Society (Rhonda Covington). She is delighted to be back on the PLT Mainstage with this cast of talented women.

ALABAMA STORY
October 20-29, 2023 | A Studio 400 Production
WRITTEN BY KENNETH JONES
DIRECTED BY GAVIN PARMLEY
Inspired by true events from 1959, as the Civil Rights movement is brewing, a segregationist State Senator and a no-nonsense State Librarian clash over the content of a children’s book. Meanwhile, a reunion of childhood friends — an African American man and a woman of white privilege — provides a private counterpoint to the public events swirling in the state capital. Political foes, star-crossed lovers, and one feisty children’s author inhabit a Deep South of the imagination that brims with humor, heartbreak, and hope.
Studio400 productions are intended for mature audiences.
