Short Attention Span Theatre is a fun evening of short plays revolving around love and relationships. This year you'll see three stages in one couple’s relationship spanning about 3 decades, an improbable ill-fated Zombie romance, and conversations between two paintings hanging in the Louvre. Our director’s this year are Clayton Habeck, Lisa Goodness, and Leslee Young.

A marriage counselor finds an unusual way to help a quarrelling couple who speak exclusively in Beatles’ lyrics.

The Ripple Effect - Written by: Arianna Rose | Directed by: Leslee Young
A young couple is trying to get pregnant. Amy tries to get Jeff on board with some unorthodox fertilization rituals.

Zombie Survivor - Written by: Milan Smith | Directed by Clayton Habecker
What does it take to survive the zombie apocalypse? Friends? Heroes? Maybe just snacks?

Shapes and Stanzas - Written by: Ken Pruess | Directed by Clayton Habecker
Friends, Ron and Suzie, meet three times across 60 years, exploring poetry, geometry, friendship, romance, and other complicated things.

Put Asunder - Written by: James McLindon | Directed by Lisa Goodness
A bride has a few loose ends to tie up before walking down the aisle…is anyone ever sure about forever?

Perspective - Written by: James McLindon | Directed by Lisa Goodness
Their paintings moved to a new room at the Lourve, Mary and the Archangel Gabriel find their relationship threatened by a woman with an inscrutable smile.


About The Directors

Clayton Habecker - zombie survivor/ shapes and stanzas

Clayton has been doing Theatre most of his life since middle school. The majority of his time in college was spent on stage at Pensacola State College where he performed in shows such as M*A*S*H, A Lie of the Mind, The Underpants, and Rhinoceros. He also directed student one acts at PSC back in 2010. His most recent time on stage was for Pensacola Little Theatre's production of 39 Steps in May of 2019. Clayton is also co owner of the Murder Mystery Troupe: Improbable Cause Mystery Theatre based out of Pensacola, and can be found acting in another Pensacola based group named Kitty Get A Job, producing local sketch comedy.

Leslee Young - Meet the beatletoons/the ripple effect

Leslee’s first show with Pensacola Little Theatre was canceled due to Hurricane Ivan in 2004. In 2007 she won a Crystal Award for her role as Flora in Pensacola Little Theatre’s production of 27 Wagons Full of Cotton. Leslee and the cast also represented Pensacola Little Theatre that year at the Provincetown Tennessee Williams Theater Festival. She was most recently seen as Nora in Will Mr. Merriwether Return From Memphis? and as M’lynn in Steel Magnolias. When not acting Leslee wrangles 3 young boys for very little pay.

Lisa Goodness - Put Asunder/perspective

SAST 2021 marks Lisa's official directorial debut. She has worked previously as assistant director on this season's Switzerland, and PLT'S 2013 production of Sleuth. Lisa is better known as an actor in the Pensacola community, having appeared in past PLT productions such as Wonder of the World, God of Carnage, and Noises Off, as well as 10 years as a member of the Loblolly Theatre where she performed in over 27 original plays.

Eleanore Armani as Suzie/Sue/Susan

Eleanor is a small animal veterinarian who is excited to reconnect with her love of theatre. This is her first show at Pensacola Little Theatre and her first time back on stage after 25 years.

Chris Heaney As Ronnie/Ron/Ronald

Chris renewed his acting interests at Pensacola Little Theatre after a career in the Navy. With some encouragement he auditioned for PLT’s production of Mamma Mia! in 2019 and was cast as Bill. Following that fun experience, Chris joined the cast of Miracle on 34th Street, playing the part of Fred Gayley. Chris also serves on the PLT Board of Trustees. He is excited for his first Short Attention Span Theatre experience.

Benjamin Vath as Dave, Mr. Beatletoon, Trey

Benjamin started performing when he decided to major in Theatre at Pensacola State College, earning his Associates Degree in 2016. He has performed around the Pensacola area with Improbable Cause Mystery Theatre as well as often performing at PSC and PLT. Most recently Benjamin was seen in PLT’s 2019 production of Mamma Mia!.

Mercedes Cobbett has been doing community theatre since she was 15 years old. She started doing summer camps at PLT and then went on to be part of Theatre West and First City Shakespeare. You can now see her as a cast member of Improbable Cause Mystery Theatre.

This is Savanna’s first time on the Pensacola Little Theatre stage. When not acting, you can find her in the salon where she works as a hair artist.

Sheayla Daniels as Dr. Roberts/Janet

Sheayla has always had a passion for acting and entertainment. This will be her first time on stage. Originally from Ocala Florida, Sheayla is currently serving in the United States Navy as Hospital Corpsman.

J.W. has been performing as a stand-up comedian for five years, and has been involved in theatre since high school. This is his fourth performance with Pensacola Little Theatre, having been previously seen in our 24 Hour Theatre productions. When not performing on stage, J. W. enjoys writing and directing.

Elizabeth Rowan as Amy

A native of New England, Elizabeth is excited to have found a place in the Pensacola Little Theatre community. This will be her fourth production with PLT and she is looking forward to a fun and safe show!

Sara Vaughn as Virgin Mary/Mrs. Stone

Sara is excited to get a break from the travel bans and to be transported to the Louvre. In the before times, she most recently played Germaine in Arrant Knavery’s 2018 production of Picasso at the Lapin Agile. Sara is also on the board with Arrant Knavery, a local theatre company, where she serves as the Treasurer.

Nathaniel Hodges as gabriel the Archangel/Mr. Stone

Nathaniel is very excited about his debut performance. A former deputy sheriff, Nathaniel is currently pursuing a Bachelors of Arts degree in Theatre. He is very involved with his church and considers it his biggest calling.

Eli is a 19-year-old aspiring actor local to the Pensacola Bay Area. This will be his first performance with Pensacola Little Theatre. You may have recently seen him in Improbable Cause Mystery Theatre’s Kiss of Death! Not only is he thrilled to be a part of SAST but hopefully this is only the beginning!
